DANIEL SMITH Watercolors are my favorite!
I have used their artist grade watercolors for many years. I first became familiar with their paints when I was a student (many years ago). One of the first paints I tried was Quinacridone Gold…I was sold! As I became more experienced with watercolor my curiosity grew. It didn’t take me long to realize I was using paint from an exceptional company with cutting edge development in the paint industry.
Customer service is wonderful. Numerous times I’ve had questions about paint colors. They’ve always been eager to help me find answers to my questions. The company has done so much to educate artists about color, paint, safety issues, environmental concerns…and more. I refer to information provided by the company as a teaching tool for students to understand how paints are made (process, index color, binders, transparency, opaque…). I especially
love the website. I can research paint colors by numerous categories: name, granulation, staining, color family, lightfastness, transparency…
I am especially fond of transparent colors for negative painting. The entire line of quinacridone paint choices are second to none! I love the range of color choices and consistency in quality!
